DECLARATION OF FAITH

We TEACH...

that God has revealed Himself through His inspired Word, the Bible; that the Bible is inspired verbally – equally in every word – and without error in the original writings that have been preserved in content by God from the time of authorship to this day; that the Scriptures were completed at the closure of the New Testament and that God is not giving new or additional revelational truth today; that the Bible is the supreme and final authority in objective truth and practical living.

We TEACH...

that there is but one living and true God, an infinite, all-knowing Spirit, perfect in all His attributes, one in essence, eternally existing in three Persons – the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each equally deserving worship and obedience; that God is the Creator of all things, completely sovereign in the affairs of the universe, and is the author of His own eternal plan and purpose whereby, for His glory, He works all things after the counsel of His will.

We TEACH...

that God the Father, the first Person of the Trinity, is the Father of all mankind, but is the spiritual Father only of those who come to Him through repentance and faith in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ; that God, as sovereign, rules over every creature and event without being the author of sin, nor abridging the accountability of moral, intelligent creatures; that He orders and accomplishes all things according to His own purpose and grace to the end of His glory.

We TEACH...

the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity, His eternal pre-existence, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, and in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood; that He is the only Savior of man, being both Son of God and Son of Man, two distinct natures, fully divine and fully human, concurring in one Person; in His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and that He is physically coming again, King of kings and Lord of lords, to establish His Kingdom.

We TEACH...

the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved – the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and the unsaved unto the resurrection of eternal damnation; that heaven and hell are both eternal realities and that the future will be blissful for the saved and horrible for the unsaved.

We TEACH...

that the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, performs His regenerating work in the life of the believer; that at the moment of salvation, the Holy Spirit baptizes every believer into the body of Christ, personally indwelling, sanctifying, encouraging, instructing, illuminating, and empowering the saints, as well as sealing them unto the day of redemption; that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.

We TEACH...

that man, in his natural state, is spiritually dead in sin and totally depraved, sin having so corrupted every human faculty – mind, will, and emotion – that he is actuated by wrong principles and unable to love God as he ought; that sin-stained man, therefore, is rightfully under a sentence of divine condemnation and justly subject to suffer the wrath of God for all eternity; that sinful man is hopeless without the regenerating grace of God, yet, through repentance from sin and faith in Jesus’ finished, substitutionary sacrifice, the sinner is fully forgiven of his sins and reconciled to God; that in salvation the sinner is delivered from sin’s domineering power, its just eternal penalty, and one day will be completely free of its polluting influence; that by submission to the Holy Spirit’s sanctifying ministry, the believer grows in the grace and knowledge of the Lord and is being transformed from glory to glory into the likeness of Christ.

We TEACH...

that all who put their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into one united spiritual body, the church, of which Christ is the head; that the church, though one spiritual body, has many local expressions (fellowships/assemblies); that the purpose of the church is to glorify God by building its members up in faith, by instruction of the word, by fellowship, by keeping the ordinances, and by advancing and communicating the gospel to the entire world; and that the church’s members enjoy two ordinances – believer’s baptism and the Lord’s supper.
