Few callings are more inspiring and intimidating than a man's call to lead his family. The Lord has created us leaders, men, the heads of our respective homes. At one level this excites us because we were made to protect, provide, and guide. On another level, good leadership is a great challenge because of the cost involved and our tendency to shun responsibility. The Bible is clear — all men are leaders; the only question is what kind of leaders will we be?

There are a number of things that a man can attempt to get “more” of during the summer months. More relaxation, vacations, fishing, projects done, but is your desire to have more of Christ and to lead your family to His glory? That is truly the more that is worth pursuing.

Improving our homes is not limited to fixing the leaky sink, or taking out the trash (although those are indeed helpful things) but more importantly the spiritual conditions of the home to be enhanced by his godly example and joyful leadership. This is an impossible task for the unbeliever, but possible for a believing husband/father through the help of God’s Spirit.

This six-week will be focused on leading in our homes as we look to Christ as our perfect example.
